Welcome back to Two Navy Guys and a Novel, the blog series to watch two ex-Navy officers write a military thriller. Previous episodes are available on our website.
Lots of good things are happening now. The manuscript has been through our beta readers and we’ve gone back and done some reconstructive surgery on a few areas that needed work. WMD is now safely in the hands of our editor, Sarah Kolb-Williams, for the next month or so.
So what do we do in our spare time?
I (David here) can tell you from personal experience that producing and marketing a book is every bit as hard as writing it—maybe even harder. Now that we’re secure in the story we want to tell and are into the final stages of production, it’s time to introduce our book to the world.

Weapons of Mass Deception
In 2003, the world watched as coalition forces toppled the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, then searched—unsuccessfully—for the weapons of mass destruction they were certain existed.
None were ever found.
But they do exist. On the eve of the invasion, a handful of nuclear weapons was smuggled out of Iraq and hidden in the most unlikely of places—Iran. As the threat of WMDs fades into a late-night punch line, a shadowy Iranian faction waits for the perfect moment to unleash Saddam Hussein’s nuclear legacy on the West.
Brendan McHugh, a Navy SEAL, meets a mysterious Iranian diplomat on a raid in Iraq. His former girlfriend, an FBI Special Agent, discovers a link to Iran among a group of captured jihadis. And pulling it all together is a CIA analyst who can’t forget about Saddam Hussein’s WMDs—even if it might cost him his job.
Patriot Games meets The Fourth Protocol as Brendan and his friends race to avert a nuclear catastrophe.
