A few months ago, I sold the audio rights to my short story, The Collector, to a monthly science fiction audio drama series called Redshift. In their call for submissions, they describe their work as “a sci-fi anthology series in the vein of Twilight Zone or Dimension X. Monthly auditory delights from the future past.”
They loved my twisted tale of an Internet-age bounty hunter.
This is not an audiobook, this is an audio drama. Remember the old-timey radio series like “The Shadow?” Well, that's what we're talking about here. Redshift takes scripts or prose pieces and adapts them for performance. Creepy background music, doors opening, footsteps, the whole nine yards.
The Redshift team did a fabulous job with the audio drama script, converting my 9000 word short story into a 23-minute radio performance. Give it a listen HERE, then compare it to the original short story. (You can pay 99 cents on Amazon or get a free copy HERE.)
